WHY WIND??   If you live with a mean wind speed of 4.7m/s or about 11mph, you should get  more  annual power from a wind turbine than from the same amount of (net) money invested in solar panels.  Check this link to a wind map to see what your mean wind is:    http://firstlook.3tiergroup.com/   Be sure to check as low as you can like 30m above ground. 

Wind turbines don't take up valuable land and are very difficult to steal!!!

You don't have to wash the turbine every two weeks throughout the growing season.  Solar panels will loose 20% or more due to dust.

At the end of the service life (25 years) most of a solar PV system may go to the dump.  However most of the wind turbine will still be in service many many more years.  The tower and foundation represent about half the cost. They don't wear out. The main turbine has only 3 main bearings on  1 major moving part- the shaft.   At the end of 25 years, you can rebuild for a fraction of the original cost and  good for another round.  New  blades, bearings etc. and it is ready for another round.  In 20 years turbines will improve a lot, but there isn't much to improve with a concrete foundation or the tower.  Your second round costs are still only a fraction of the original costs.

   

THE WORLD MARKET:
 China is now the world's leading maker of small wind turbines (less than 100kw).  Although there are many companies in China that make similar looking turbines from an established design, each manufacturer is independent, and have incorporated their own improvements into their machines. Surfing the web gets more confusing with each search.  There are many "makers" of turbines, and you will notice, many even use the same pictures!!!.   Some are actually manufacturers, some are just agents claiming to be manufacturers.   Some have good quality, some don't.  It's a total gamble if you just buy one on the net.  A gamble that you will probably loose. 

Even the Stateside "dealers" have the same pictures on their sites.  Should you  wonder why they don't put up their own pictures??

OUR APPROACH:  We visited the factories in China.  After determining what manufacturer had the best quality control and customer service, we bought  two turbines and installed them on our own property here in Chico, CA.   We then evaluated all the systems BEFORE WE BEGAN TO ACTIVELY MARKET TO THE PUBLIC.  We made some very important observations.  We have added more control systems and safety features.

WHY ECOBREEZE?

EcoBreeze turbine systems are IC certified, and have the international CE certificate.   We use only UL approved  inverters, Our systems are approved with the California Energy Commission for rebates. 

We at EcoAdvantage Power Inc,  have  added safety and control mechanisms to the basic factory machines.

Unique features to the EcoBreeze turbine: 

1. Ceramic disk brake pads.    These have more braking power and don't tend to burn up, or wear out as fast.  A very important safety upgrade!!!

2.    American Engineered towers and foundations:  Our towers are designed here in America by a licensed Structural Engineer and built to our specifications.

3.  Double redundant overs peed protection, and MOST IMPORTANT and UNIQUE TO THE ECOBREEZE, IS THE CAPABILITY of turning themselves both ON and off.  In addition, the EcoBreeze machines offer Remote control!!    Yes, we can monitor as well as control your turbine via the web!!  ....as long as you have internet access which may be Free !!!  See below for details.

The EcoBreeze features deserves more explanation:  We at EcoAdvantage have designed and built a second control system that is redundant to the factory control system.  From the factory, (as sold by others) the machine will shut down automatically, but only from over votage, and NOT EVER turn it self back on.  You must manually do it, on site.  Usually when there is a grid failure, (winter storm)  it will shut down.  If you don't have an EcoBreeze, you must physically go to the turbine site to restart it.  An AG application, means going out through the winter mud to restart.   The Ecobreeze will restart by itself when the grid comes back on, or the wind dies down to a pre programmed number.   From any computer, we can also restart or turn off your turbine, as well as monitor its many parameters of operation.  We can get a warning email if any parameter is out of its range.  If it shuts down, it will tell us why.  An internet connection is necessary for the remote monitoring and control, but the auto turn on from high wind or grid failure will work without an internet connection.

4. The Ecobreeze has a secondary wind controlled shut down system that works along side the factory control system, allowing us to program your machine to turn off or back on to specific wind speeds- BEFORE THE OVER VOLTAGE system shuts it down.  Another important safety feature.

It is important to note that the EcoBreeze systems are redundant to the factory ones, meaning that all the original factory systems are still functioning, with ours just running along side, so to speak.  DOUBLE PROTECTION!!! 

THE THREE BIGGEST MISTAKES IN WIND TURBINE INSTALLATION: 
1. To short a tower.
2. To short a tower. 
3. To short a tower.

We use an 80' tower and foundation with nearly 40 yards of concrete.  That 20' extra over the typical 60' tower makes a world of difference!!!.  This tower / foundation costs us about $5000 more than the 60' tower, but we think it is worth it in the long run.


INTERNET FOR FREE
***We work with Internet Providers  that may provide FREE internet to you in exchange for allowing them to mount their equipment on your tower.  Here at the EcoAdvantage shop, we have free internet.   A nice perk.  With the high speed internet, we were able to eliminate a $150/mo phone bill and replace it with $16. a month, a better phone service that has FREE long distance, and voice mail  too.  We at EcoAdvantage will make all the arrangements for you if your location is suitable for internet on the towers.

  


What do they cost??  Each installation is designed specifically for the customer, however, the installed cost after rebates  make them VERY affordable.  Govt. rebates can pay for more than 80% of the total cost.  Accelerated depreciation of 5 years is available.  Payback can be as little as 3 years.  See the pricing page for details.  
 
Our expert installs are turn key, from site design, engineering of foundations, to application and processing of  building permits, rebate applications, power generation agreements with PG&E,  to final inspection and connection of the turbine to the power grid.
 
Having a complete energy analysis done by an EcoAdvantage representative will demonstrate how you can get paid up to 55 cents per kwh by PG&E yet pay as little as 9 cents for power delivered from them to you.
